3. What can I do to begin fundraising for my school?

There is currently available a printable flyer and coming soon brochures and posters will be available in PDF in the Forms section of the SST Fund site. These describe the program and direct potential donors to the website where they can make a donation.

4. Do I have to donate to a specific school?

No, you can donate to the SST Fund without naming a school. The Foundation's Board of Directors will direct the money to existing or start-up programs.

5. Can I donate something other than money?

We only accept donations of cash through credit cards, debit cards, checks, and "in kind" donations of stocks or bonds that are publicly traded or readily convertible to cash. At this time we do not accept donations of non-financial assets. If that should change in the future we will post a notice on our website. Please contact Information@scholasticshootingtrust.org to arrange for a donation of stocks and bonds.

6. How does a shooting team receive money from the SST Fund?

The SST Fund site has a Grant Request Form in the forms section. The coach or the head of the shooting team should complete the form and submit it to the Foundation by June 15 for funding in the current year.

7. Are the grants restricted in any way?

Grant money may not be used to purchase guns but may be used for shooting program expenses, such as practice ammunition, travel, entry fees, uniforms, scholarships and personnel costs.

8. My school has a shooting program that is not listed, how do I get it listed on your site?

Have the shooting team's coach or sponsor contact us at: Information@ScholasticShootingTrust.org.

9. How do I get a competitive shooting program established at my school?

The SST Fund site has a Forum section to allow for questions and the sharing of ideas with other parties who have experience in developing, managing or coaching competitive shooting programs or to discuss other topics beneficial to scholastic shooting programs.

10. My school wasn't listed. How do I add my school to the website?

11. Does the funding go directly to the school district?

The funds are provided to the school's shooting program and not the school.

12. Can I donate to a specific shooting discipline at my school?

Your donations may suggest a school but not a specific shooting discipline.

13. What types of competitive shooting programs exist?

On the collegiate level:

  • Air rifle and small bore rifle (NCAA)
  • Shotgun Clay Target (Association of Collegiate Unions International (ACUI))
  • Air pistol and small bore pistol (NRA)

On the high school level:

  • Shotgun clay target (FFA, 4-H, various other)
  • Air rifle (Some state high school associations, JROTC and Civilian Marksmanship Program)

15. What if my school doesn't have a team?

You can contribute to the SST Fund and grants may be used toward starting a team at your school. A growing balance on your school's information page will generate interest in getting a team started.

16. Is the SST Fund the same thing as the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP)?

No, MidwayUSA Foundation, Inc. and the Scholastic Shooting Trust (SST) Fund are unrelated to the Scholastic Clay Target Program.

17. How much do I have to donate to receive gold-level recognition?

Donor recognition levels for High Schools vary by enrollment. Universities, Colleges, and Junior College donor levels are identical. Donor level recognition is based on cumulative donations made to a school. The various donor levels are listed below:

18. Why do I need to create an account and Sign In?

Setting up an account allows us to maintain donor information in accordance with various IRS reporting requirements and the use of a password and "Signing In" provides security for your donor information. Also, the ability to make multiple donations becomes easier and allows us to provide you with access to a history of your donation information. Be assured that we do not sell or distribute the names of donors.
